With a heat warning and air quality advisory in effect through the weekend, staying cool is not just about comfort, for some people it’s about safety.

Just be sure to stay in the shade or in the water so you don't get too much sun.
3. North Shore, Port Jefferson and Comsewogue libraries have air conditioning. Pick up a new book, catch up on your magazine reading or surf the Internet while staying cool.
4. The lines are getting longer at McNulty's. Get there early to beat the crowd and grab a treat.
5. Don't have air conditioning? Grab a drink and relax in Crazy Beans or Starbucks coffee shops in Miller Place or Is-A-Love Cafe in Sound Beach.
