OPEN FORUM Dec 8. - Rocky Point Special Education Information

Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. in the Auditorium the PTA and SERC (Special Education Resource Committee) in conjunction with the district will be hosting an open forum on the structure of services available through the recently "RESTRUCTURED" Special Education Department. YOUR CHILD NEED NOT BE A CHILD WITH AN IEP TO HAVE THESE CHANGES EFFECT HIM/HER. 

The PTA has invited Assistant Superintendent, Dr. Deborah De Luca and Special Education Coordinator, Mrs. Andrea Moscatiello, to present information on the program.

I urge ALL parents to be present at this meeting. There will also be a presentation by SERC to educate parents on the many advocacy resources available to the parents of children with special needs. That "special need" may include a food allergy, a gifted and talented child or a child with a physical or mental challenge.  Please come and voice your concerns.

If you are unable to make it, send someone in your place.  If you don't have a question, go simply because you would like to educate yourself on what is going on in our district. Go because you are supporting our teachers. Due to the restructure, our teachers are getting extra put on their plates. See you there!
