In light of recent attempted home in and around Shoreham - SWRWeekly had the SCPD run a report on the last three years' burglary statistics.
The statistics pictured include: A "home invasion," where the victims are home (Burglary 1) and when the residents are not home (Burglary 2).
The stats show the following that there was a doubling of burglaries from 2010 to 2011 and also just how low crime is in our area. Similar size towns have results with ten times these numbers. Please note much of Wading River is in the Town of Riverhead - those results are not included here.
