Crime Report: Rocky Point Man Found in Possession of Stolen Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Suffolk County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Richard Arpen, 28, of Rocky Point, was arrested Feb. 1 in Riverhead and charged with third-degree criminal possession of stolen property with a value greater than $3,000, a felony. Arpen was found to be in possession of a stolen vehicle in Holbrook and was arrested at the precinct in Riverhead, according to Police.

Carl Rup, 67, of Rocky Point, was arrested Feb. 1 in Brookhaven and charged with DWAI combined drugs and alcohol, a misdemeanor. Rup was arrested on Route 347 and Old Town Road driving a 2002 Toyota after he attempted to make a turn and drove on wrong side of road, Police said.

Phillip Forte, 25, of Mt. Sinai was arrested Jan. 31 in Rocky Point and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor. Forte was arrested on Pine Road in Rocky Point and was found to be in possession of heroin, according to police.

A Rocky Point man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident without reporting after allegedly driving a 2006 Mitsibushi into a tree in front of one house and a mailbox in front of another on Miller Place Road on Jan. 25.
