I'm not one to tell other cultures what to eat, but I am completely against the torture of animals - like throwing firecrackers at them in the process.
The Campaign to halt Peru cat-eating festival has finally made the American press in a meaningful manner. Help bring awareness to this senseless killing.
A Peruvian congressman has joined animal rights activists to try and halt the consumption of barbecued cat at an annual religious festival.
Mind you it is not all Peruvians, just Peruvians descended from African slaves that come to La Quebrada to celebrate the adored black saint Santa Efigenia (they do it in her name).
Please search the web and educate your friend, especially those involved in cat rescues in America.
