From Rocky Point School District: Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School students in the Rocky Point School District learned about the sport of fencing during a recent workshop with the owners and representatives from Mission Fencing, a Rocky Point-based fencing facility.
During their physical education classes, the students learned about the evolution of the sport and the different types of swords used during duels as well as their early connections to self-defense. In addition, using pool noodles, they practiced a few basic steps and competition moves.
