Man Dies After Crashing Into Tree in Rocky Point

BREAKING: Police have identified a 25-year-old killed in a crash Saturday morning.

ROCKY POINT, NY - A 25-year-old died after his car crashed into a tree in Rocky Point Saturday morning, police said.

According to police, Thomas Farley, of Astoria, Queens was driving a 2010 Toyota Corolla north on Rocky Point Yaphank Road, north of Whiskey Road, when his vehicle crossed over the southbound lane and struck a tree at about 8 a.m.

Farley was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.

It's the second deadly crash in Rocky Point this week. On Thursday, a woman was killed and three others were hurt in a two-car crash.
