Man Killed in Forklift Accident in Rocky Point
The forklift overturned onto the 21-year-old Thursday afternoon, police say.

ROCKY POINT, NY – A 21-year-old man was killed after a forklift he was operating overturned at a Rocky Point business Thursday afternoon, Suffolk Police said.
According to police, Josue Rodriguez was operating a forklift at Swim King, located at 471 Route 25A, when the forklift fell onto its side, pinning him under the roof of the forklift at about 4:30 p.m.
Rodriguez, of Bellport, was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead.

The incident appears to be non-criminal, police said. An autopsy will be conducted by the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified of the incident.
