• Brinkmann's Miller Place expansion nears finish line with end-of-year opening planned (tbrnewsmedia.com) — A major expansion of Brinkmann's True Value Hardware on Route 25A will bring a much larger Miller Place store, expanded departments, and about 15 new jobs by year's end. The project includes a 4,000-square-foot garden center, new traffic connections to McDonald's and Walgreens, and a planned spring grand-opening celebration, while the current Miller Place location holds a liquidation sale during a short overlap period. 
• Wildcats boys soccer looks to repeat last year's success with new faces (timesreview.com) — Shoreham-Wading River's boys soccer team is chasing another deep playoff run after last year's near-title, and they just notched a 3-0 win over Miller Place. With key scorer Zach Makarewicz back, new starters stepping up, and a strong showing despite injuries against Miller Place, the Wildcats believe they can match or surpass last season's success.
