How do athletes improve their performance? They train with professional trainers.
I've played tennis for 8 years. 2 years JV, 4 years Varsity, and 2 years NJCAA on a team that made it to Nationals in 2010 in Tucson, AZ.
I learned after those matches that I wasn't playing to my fullest potential because my coaches didn't know training. They knew tennis. Laps around the court was a good warm up...but doing a few sets of suicides 3x/week at the same pace wasn't going to IMPROVE anything.
