Moving Up To Middle School In Rocky Point

Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School fifth-grade students gathered together to celebrate their promotion to middle school.

From Rocky Point Schools:In their last official act as elementary students, Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School fifth-grade students in the Rocky Point School District gathered together to celebrate their promotion to middle school during a special moving up ceremony.

During the event, the fifth-grade select chorus “High Notes” performed a selection of songs by Teresa Jennings conducted by student-members, individuals were recognized for their dedication to the school’s student council, technology club and two students were honored with the New York State Comptroller’s Achievement Award and the New York State Office of the Attorney General Triple “C” Award. Each class was then classed to the front of the ceremony to receive their moving up certificates and celebrated by those in attendance.
