• Teen Pedestrian Struck By Sedan And Seriously Hurt In Mount Sinai: Police (patch.com) — A serious overnight crash in nearby Mount Sinai left a 17-year-old pedestrian hospitalized, and police say the 18-year-old driver is from Miller Place. The Acura that struck the teen was impounded for a safety check, and Suffolk detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the 6th Squad as they continue investigating.

The Sound Beach native, now with the Carolina Hurricanes, celebrated his championship win and a county-declared "Brandon Bussi Day" with family, friends, and youth hockey players.
