Rocky Point Student Sings On a National Stage

Congrats to Joshua Vogel!

From Rocky Point Schools: Along with other talented music students across the United States and overseas in military-based schools, Rocky Point High School senior Joshua Vogel has been working diligently on his musical craft, practicing with dedication to gain a chair or part in local, district and state music honor ensembles and this fall that dedication paid off on a national level.

Joshua has now been selected to join the “best of the best” for the National Association for Music Education’s 2018 All-National Honor Ensembles Nov. 25-28, 2018, at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort at Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. He will perform along with the National Honor Choir. The All-National Honor Ensembles performers represent collaboration and creativity in its highest musical form. Students were selected through an audition process. Eligible students have qualified for their state-level honor ensemble program and competed against top students for a spot in these national honor ensembles.

Joshua, along with his fellow choir members, will be rehearsing a challenging repertoire in preparation for performing under the baton of prominent conductors in the United States. The Rocky Point School District wishes him well, as he represents the school community this November.
