Long Island Man Wins $5 Million Lottery Prize

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY— Two Long Islanders both won $5 million in the New York Lottery last week.

Freeport's Jose Almazan got lucky with a ticket purchased in Freeport. Louis DeMayo from Port Jefferson Station also won $5 million two days earlier.

DeMayo bought the ticket at Maakrupa Super Stop at 200A Montauk Highway in Lindenhurst and decided to take a lump sum of $3.255 million.

DeMayo summed up his emotions after the win.
