Shoreham-Wading River’s Katherine Lee Wins State Cross Country
The win came on the heels of her Section XI Championship crown at Sunken Meadow State Park.

From Shoreham-Wading River Schools: Wildcat pride was at an all-time high when Shoreham-Wading River High School elite runner Katherine Lee recently finished her high school running career by taking the Class B title in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Cross Country Championships on Nov. 11. The win came on the heels of her Section XI Championship crown at Sunken Meadow State Park.
Lee’s 5,000-meter run was finished in 20:7.9. This is not her first championship — she has achieved two previous state titles, has won the Suffolk County 5K event for the past four years and also ran on the national level. Lee plans to continue her athletic achievements at Georgetown University where she will run as a member of the cross-country and track teams.
