Town to Issue Tax Refunds for Some in Shoreham-Wading River
Village Times Herald reports some residents can expect a refund check of around $200.

An error made by the Brookhaven town assessor's office resulted in overcharging residents of the Shoreham-Wading River School District, according to a report published Wednesday in the Village Times Herald.
Tax assessor Jim Ryan said the error originated when his office mistakenly gave the Long Island Power Authority property in Shoreham a full tax exemption rather than a partial one. According to the report, homeowners who paid their tax bills prior to Jan. 10 will receive an average of $200.
