Reorganize the Building Department to:

1.Eliminate long lines for service.

2. Make inspection process one-step.

3. Create a more responsive counter service.

4.Provide a clear set of guidelines for homeowners and businesses that delineate all steps and procedures required to obtain a CO or permit.

5.Develop better communications and chains of command between Law and Building Departments.

6.Implement the Red Tape Reduction Plan presented by Councilwoman Kepert’s Blue Ribbon Panel.
