2 Charged in Westbury Restaurant Brawl That Led to Knifepoint Robbery: Police
Two men used a beer bottle and a pool stick as weapons Monday afternoon, police said.

Two men were arrested after police said they assaulted two people and robbed one of them at knifepoint at a Westbury restaurant Monday afternoon.
According to authorities, Ovidio Hernandez, 33, of Westbury got into a verbal argument with a 32-year-old man while inside Sabor Latino Restaurant, located at 678 Union Ave, which led to him hitting the man in the forehead with a beer bottle, causing the man a large laceration that made him fall to the ground, at 2:20 p.m.
When a 30-year-old man came to the aid of the injured man, police said Miguel A. Amador, 32, of Westbury, hit that man with a pool stick, causing contusions to the man’s right hand.

Hernandez then displayed a folding knife, removed an undetermined amount of cash from the 32-year-old’s pocket and fled out the rear door of the restaurant with Amador, police said.
Officers arrived to the scene and saw Amador and Hernandez in the rear lot. They were place into police custody without incident.

The 32-year-old man was transported by ambulance to be treated for his injuries. The man hit with a pool stick refused treatment at the scene.
Amador was charged with first degree robbery, second degree assault and fourth degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Hernandez was charged with first degree robbery, second degree assault, second degree menacing and two counts of fourth degree possession of a dangerous weapon.
Both men were arraigned Tuesday at First District Court in Hempstead.
