3 Men Rob Taxi Driver, Passenger at Gunpoint in Westbury

The incident happened Friday morning, police said.

Authorities are seeking three armed men who robbed a taxi driver and his passenger in Westbury early Friday.

According to authorities, a TH Express taxi, occupied by a male driver and a front male passenger, picked up two men on Livingston Street at 2:10 a.m.

One of the two men, who were sitting in the rear of the taxi, told the driver to stop after a short distance and one of the suspects placed a knife to the passenger’s neck and demanded his wallet and earrings, police said.

The other suspect restrained the driver while a third masked suspect armed with a handgun walked to the driver’s door and demanded cash, police said.

The three robbers reportedly fled on foot eastbound on Livingston Street and entered an SUV.

They were able to take an undetermined amount of cash, earrings and a wallet containing personal papers, police said.
