3 Mineola High School Students Recognized For Achievements
Mathew Manevitz, Nicolas Tavares and Catherine Winski were recognized by Mineola's board of education and administration.

MINEOLA, NY— From Mineola Union Free School District: At its May 9 meeting, the Mineola Union Free School District’s Board of Education and administration recognized three distinguished high school students with recent notable achievements. The district congratulates the following:
- Mathew Manevitz – Received the Silver Medal from the Institute of Merit at SUNY College at Old Westbury for his research, “An Exploration of Surface Area of Figures on a Sphere.”
- Nicolas Tavares – In recognition of his Naval Reserve Officers Training Scholarship.
- Catherine Winski – Second place winner in the 2019 Kenneth F. Gambone Writing Contest sponsored by the Long Island Language Arts Council.
