Here are the top stories today in Mineola:
- Nassau County police arrested three teenagers from New Jersey after they led officers on a chase down Northern Boulevard in Flower Hill on Sunday. Police spotted the teens in a stolen vehicle and tried to conduct a traffic stop. The 16-year-old driver crashed into the police car and drove off to avoid arrest. The police eventually caught the teens on the Long Island Expressway and took them into custody. Three officers and two detectives were hospitalized, and two police vehicles were totaled. (Patch)
- More than $14,000 in catalytic converters were stolen from a Garden City Park school bus depot, according to police. They report than an employee of We Transport Bus Company at 20 1st Ave. entered the locked storage yard just before dawn on April 25 and found 14 catalytic converters missing from buses parked there over the weekend. Anyone with information about this is asked to call 911 or Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. (Patch)
