Here are the top stories in Mineola today:

  1. A community activist from Hempstead accused Nassau County Executive Laura Curran for not having Latino representation in the county's Office of Minority Affairs. On the steps of the County Executive and Legislative Building in Mineola, Melissa Figueroa and 30 activists demanded greater Latino representation in the Minority Affairs office. (Newsday)
  2. An unlicensed massage therapist was indicted in Mineola for inappropriately touching clients at a Garden City spa believed to be owned by his wife. The 60-year-old man from New Hyde Park faces charges including unauthorized practice of profession, two counts of forcible touching and two counts of sexual abuse in the third degree.   3. A 41-year-old volunteer paramedic for the Woodmere fire department was arrested and charged with second degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child after an incident with a 13-year-old boy. Michael Soshnick of Mineola is representing the defendant. (liherald)
  4. A memorial service has been announced for Lilia "Mimi" Gherardi Nash, born in Mineola, who passed away on Feb. 4, 2021 at age 92. (GoLocalProv)
