• Nassau County Ends 287(g) Agreement With ICE, Blakeman Says (patch.com) — Nassau County, based in Mineola, has officially ended its 287(g) partnership with ICE to comply with Gov. Kathy Hochul's new "Local Cops, Local Crimes" law, stopping ICE work out of the county jail. County Executive Bruce Blakeman criticized the mandate, vowed to keep cooperating with ICE where allowed, and ordered the sheriff to join a federal lawsuit challenging the state's restrictions.
