
Jay’s World Childhood Cancer Foundation Inc. recently donated a gift of $10,000 to ’s Cancer Center for Kids (CCFK) programs and services.
The donation will help provide advanced technology in the CCFK and construction of the Jay’s World Cancer Unit in Winthrop’s Hagedorn Pediatric Inpatient Center, with resources totaling close to $600,000.
In 2004, Jay’s World Childhood Cancer Foundation funded Winthrop’s 15,000 sq. ft. Pediatric Inpatient Center featuring a five-room Pediatric Oncology Unit, specially dedicated to caring for children with cancer. The rooms feature sophisticated air filtration systems, sleeping accommodations for parents and other family-focused amenities.

The Foundation also underwrote the complete blood count (CBC) Laboratory and the Practice Manager’s office at the CCFK’s expanded outpatient facility, along with a state-of-the-art Blood Lab Machine, laptop computers, essential medical equipment and scholarships to children who have or have had cancer and are planning to attend college.
“We are truly appreciative of Jay’s World Childhood Cancer Foundation’s ongoing support which has deeply enhanced the resources and offerings at the Cancer Center for Kids for the benefit of countless patients and their families,” Linda Sweeney, Practice Manager of the CCFK said.

The Napolitano’s will be recognized for their dedication to volunteerism at the Ninth Annual Long Island Volunteer Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, set to take place at Carlyle on the Green in Bethpage State Park on Feb. 6.
