Armed Man Wearing Grills Robs Young Men of Hoverboard

The incident occurred Friday morning.

Five young men were walking on SUNY Old Westbury’s campus early Friday morning when an armed man with a gold “grill” on his lower teeth robbed them of their hoverboard, police said.

According to authorities, three 20-year-olds and two 19-year-olds were walking on South Apple Road when a person driving a tan minivan or small SUV stopped and got out of the vehicle at 1:30 a.m.

The driver showed a handgun and demanded the hoverboard from the students. The students handed over the board and the robber fled the scene in the vehicle in an unknown direction, police said.

No injuries were reported.

Police described the robber as black, 6-feet-tall and wearing a gold “grill” on his lower teeth. He was reportedly wearing a red, white and grey sweater.
