You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, the Mineola Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice:
Fresco Crêperie & Café – Louis Corcione and Steve Guasco have brought their successful Long Beach Crêperie to Williston Park, offering authentic savory and sweet crepes, soup and salads and specialty coffee drinks.
The crepes, which are made fresh for each order on a traditional cast iron griddle (you can peak over the counter and watch them being made) are very light and have a wonderful taste even without the fillings. Savory filling choices include Gruyere cheese and ham, mixed vegetables with ricotta, and a country style crepe with ground sausage, potato, caramelized onion and cheddar cheese. The “classic” sweet crepe contains just sugar, butter and cinnamon, while others can be made with fruit preserves, Nutella and fresh fruit. To top it off, chocolate or vanilla can be included.
