- Nassau County police have arrested the boyfriend of the woman found shot to death in her apartment at The Allure Mineola. Mark E. Small, 55, of Elmont, has been charged in the murder of 39-year-old Marivel Estevez. Authorities said that the couple had past domestic incidents and that Small had keys to Estevez's apartment. Small reportedly left the building after the murder in the victim's car and took her dog with him when he was in a car accident. He remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. - The Mineola man found guilty in a hit-and-run accident on Roslyn Road that killed rapper Nicki Minaj's father in February 2021 was sentenced Wednesday to one year in prison. Charles Polevich, 72, will reportedly serve only 8 months of that time for the death of Robert Maraj because he is currently incarcerated at the Nassau County Correctional Center. (1010 WINS)
