Burglar Arrested After Failing To Steal Anything: Police
Police say he was caught in the act and fled, then later found by observant officers.

A Freeport man was arrested after police say he was caught trying to rob an apartment in Mineola late last month.
According to police, Glenn Williams Jr., 31, of Bedell Street, entered an apartment building on Old Country Road at 7:30 a.m. on Oct. 23 and took the elevator to an upper floor, where he entered an unlocked apartment. While he was rummaging through the apartment, police say the resident returned home and demanded he leave.
Police say Williams fled the scene. No loss or injuries were reported.

On Wednesday, Freeport police officer saw Williams sitting in the passenger seat of a car on Atlantic Avenue while they were on routine patrol. The stopped the car and placed him under arrest.
Williams is charged with second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal contempt. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
