Williston Park Man Targets 5 Homes: Police

Police say the man attempted to enter several homes on Sunday.

A Williston Park man was arrested Sunday for entering or attempting to enter several homes in Glen Head, Glenwood Landing and Roslyn Harbor, police say.

Police received multiple 911 calls for a suspicious person who tried to enter numerous homes on Sunday night.

Authorities say they were able to locate Christopher Murther, 34, on Scudders Lane in Glen Head and pursued him on foot. Murther allegedly fought with officers before being placed into custody at 8:40 p.m.

An investigation revealed he attempted and/or entered five homes, police say. In some instances, Murther was allegedly confronted by homeowners and fled without any proceeds, police say.

  • Cody Avenue in Roslyn Harbor
  • Cody Avenue in Glenwood Landing
  • Smith Street in Glen Head
  • Two homes on Scudders Lane in Glen Head

Murther is charged with four counts of second-degree burglary, second-degree attempted burglary, four counts of criminal trespass, third-degree attempted criminal trespass and resisting arrest.

He was hospitalized for an unrelated illness and will be arraigned as soon as it’s practical.
