THIS EVENT HAS SOLD OUT. Join us for an evening of romantic and beautiful music as Poetica Musica and Old Westbury Gardens present Romantic Rendezvous in the intimate and elegant Red Ballroom of Westbury House.
Renowned pianists Javor Bračić and Angelina Gadeliya make their series debut, performing solo and duo piano works by Chopin, Schubert, Fauré, Barber, and others.
The program includes Sonata in A minor by Franz Schubert, Dolly Suite for piano four hands by Gabriel Fauré, Rondo, Op. 5 by Frédéric Chopin, Souvenirs for piano four hands by Samuel Barber, and Crimean Sketches for solo piano by Serhii Bortkiewicz.

Join us for a landmark conversation with NYU professor and author Mosette Broderick, North Shore historian and author Paul J. Mateyunas, and former U.S. Congressman John LeBoutillier, great-grandson of Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney.
This engaging discussion will offer a vivid look at the Gilded Age and its lasting impact on American art, architecture, and society. Together, our speakers will explore the creators who shaped New York society, the grand townhouses and country estates they built, and the powerful families behind them. Highlights include the rise of Fifth Avenue as America’s premier residential address and an inside look at two of the era’s most influential dynasties: the Vanderbilts and the Whitneys.

The Real Gilded Age: Creators, Houses, and Families

Explore your creativity in this hands-on adult education program with our Education Manager! Participants will use a sketch pad, pencil, watercolor set, and brush provided during class while learning techniques for sketching from observation. At the end, take home your finished artwork to display—supplies are for use during class only.
This is a rain or shine program. In the event of rain, class will be held at The Barn at Orchard Hill or inside the Thatched Cottage where participants will paint a floral still life.

Dearest Gentle Reader…learn to dance like Simon and Daphne!&nbsp; Join us for an hour of grace and merriment as we learn some of the dances from the Bridgerton and Queen Charlotte television series!&nbsp; No experience is necessary and no partner is needed, as our instructor Susan de Guardiola will guide you through easy choreographies from the television series and talk about how the Bridgerton dances differ from the dances of the actual Regency/Jane Austen era.

We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024.
