Here are the top stories in Mineola today:

  1. Two cars were recently stolen from driveways in Garden City, according to Garden City police. The vehicles were unlocked in both thefts, with the key fobs left inside the cars. Car robberies like this are an ongoing trend in Nassau County, according to police, who advise residents to always keep your vehicle locked with the windows up, even if it is in your driveway. (Garden City Patch)
  2. The Mineola-Garden City Rotary Club mourns the passing of Maureen Clancy, the first woman admitted to the club in 1987 who then became its first female president from 1993-94. A resident of Garden City for 61 years, Clancy devoted her life to the village and held many community and government positions. Among her many achievements, Clancy served on the board of NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola (now NYU Langone Hospital Long Island). (Mineola American)
  3. Three hot Mineola homes for sale have hit the market, with open houses coming up this weekend.
