Chase Bank Testing Higher ATM Fees
Bank customers react to potentially higher fees for withdrawing money.
According to the New York Daily News, Chase Bank will begin charging higher fees for noncustomers to use its ATM machines.
Chase currently has the second-largest ATM network in the U.S. with 16,000 machines.
The fees are nearly double the national average of between $2.30 to $2.60 other banks charge noncustomers for withdrawals.

Non-Chase customers in both Illinois and Texas will have to start forking over higher fees to use the convenience of the bank’s ATM machines to withdraw cash.
Chase has not yet said whether it would expand the fees nationwide.

With banks now finding new ways to charge their customers for services which used to be free, Patch went around town asking the question “Would you pay $5 to use an ATM at a bank other than your own?”
