Cops: Man Assaulted Woman in Car, Kicked Her Out onto LIE
A passerby stopped and called police, authorities said.

A Yonkers man was arrested for a robbery that occurred in Jericho on Tuesday at 7 p.m., authorities said Saturday.
According to Nassau County police,, Daniel C. Toone, 30, was driving west on the Long Island Expressway with a 28-year-old woman, when they got into an argument. As the argument escalated, Toone began to punch the woman in the face, breaking her glasses and injuring her eye. He pulled the car onto the shoulder of the LIE and physically kicked her out of the vehicle. Toone had removed the woman’s cell phone, cash and personal papers from her pocketbook and continued west, leaving her on the side of the road.
A passerby stopped and called police. The victim suffered minor injuries to her face and knees, police said.

Detectives located Toone at his residence on Friday, and with assistance of Yonkers Police attempted to place him under arrest. Toone began to struggle with the officers, causing minor injuries to two Yonkers police officers.
Toone is charged with second-degree robbery and second-degree reckless endangerment. He was scheduled for arraignment on Saturday at First District Court in Hempstead.
