- The COVID-19 infection rate among students in New York State is higher on Long Island than anywhere else, according to data released by the New York State Department of Health. Dr. Mundeep Kainth, a pediatric infectious disease physician at Cohen Children's Medical Center in New Hyde Park, said that children are being admitted to the emergency room every day with COVID-19 symptoms. - Gas prices are on the rise in New York, as the average price per gallon is significantly increasing week by week in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Compared to one year ago, it costs drivers about $17 more to fill up their tanks, according to AAA. (Mineola Patch)
