Here are the top stories in Mineola today:
- Able McTootle, 43, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for trafficking drugs throughout Long Island and New York City. Nassau County District Attorney Anne Donnelly said that the Hempstead man, who pleaded guilty to 39 separate charges, was a key drug supplier to the most violent criminals in our area. (Mineola Patch)
- An 80-year-old Glen Head woman, Lena Saban, has been arrested in a hit-and-run in Jericho. Nassau County police said that Saban was driving a 2017 Cadillac SUV and struck a 68-year-old bicyclist at Jericho Turnpike and Cedar Swamp Road Thursday morning, then drove away. The victim suffered a head injury and severe bruising, while Saban has been charged with leaving the scene of an incident involving serious injury. (Patch)
- Jeremy May has joined Mineola-based law firm Schroder & Strom as an associate attorney. May was previously the acting chairman of the Nassau County Assessment Review Commission in Mineola. (Innovate Long Island)
