Drunken Driver Struck Bicyclist, Left the Scene in Hicksville: Police
The incident occurred Friday morning.

An Islip Terrace woman faces several charges after police said she drove drunk, struck a bicyclist and fled the scene early Friday in Hicksville.
According to authorities, a 49-year-old man was riding his bicycle east on Old Country Road, near Raymond Street, when a 2007 Toyota struck him from behind, causing him a broken clavicle and a sprained ankle, at 5:45 a.m.
The driver, later identified as 30-year-old Katrina M. Yevoli, left the scene without properly identifying herself and was later stopped by a witness at Old Country Road and South Oyster Bay Road before returning to the scene, police said.

Officers arrived to the crash and said they saw Yevoli attempting to assist the injured biker. The bicyclist was taken to a local hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injuries.
An investigation determined that Yevoli was driving while intoxicated and was arrested.

She was charged with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle with more than .08 percent alcohol, leaving the scene of an auto accident with injury and third degree reckless assault.
She will be arraigned Saturday in First District Court in Hempstead.
