Duo Faces Charges After Westbury Traffic Stop, Loaded Gun, Drugs Found: PD
The pair received multiple charges, and they were arraigned on Saturday, police say.
WESTBURY, NY — Two people were arrested after an incident on Friday night in Westbury, police said.
Nassau County police said that Strategic Response Team officers were on routine patrol and observed a 2011 Kia Sorento traveling eastbound on Old Country Road with an inoperable taillight. Officers then conducted a vehicle and traffic law stop, and the incident occurred at 9:11 p.m., police said.
After an investigation, the driver, Natasha Celestin, 43, of Brooklyn, was found in possession of a white powdery substance believed to be crack/cocaine, police said.

The passenger, SaifuddinAbdus-Samad, 55, of Hempstead, was found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber revolver along with a white powdery substance believed to be crack/cocaine, NCPD said. They were both placed under arrest, police said.
Celestin was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and numerous vehicle and traffic law violations, police said.

Abdus-Samad was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.
They were arraigned on Saturday in Hempstead, police said.
