Nassau County PORTUGAL DAY CELEBRATION

Dear Friends of Nassau County:

 

I,  along with, Comptroller George Maragos invite you to join us in honoring the Nassau County Portuguese community during our first ever PORTUGAL DAY CELEBRATION on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Theodore Roosevelt Executive & Legislative Building located at 1550 Franklin Avenue in Mineola, New York.

During the event, New York State Senator Jack M. Martins will be honored as “Nassau County Portuguese-American of the Year.” We will also be honoring over ten Portuguese-American organizations, as well as many individuals, for their contributions and accomplishments in our community, including:

For the first time, Portuguese-American residents will be able to come together with community leaders at all levels of government to celebrate PORTUGAL DAY in Nassau County. It will serve as an opportunity for residents to enjoy the evening together as well as demonstrate their national pride. The event will feature traditional Portuguese food, dessert and music.
