
The Press Club of Long Island is hosting an event with talk show host, former journalist and politician Jerry Springer on May 8 at Adelphi University's Olmsted Theatre.
Springer will answer questions from PCLI President Dominick Miserandino about his perspective on today's media landscape.
"We are thrilled that Jerry has found the time to talk to us," Miserandino said. "We'd love to explore media from his perspective."
The event will take place at 7 p.m. Admission is free for students, $5 for Press Club members and $10 for non-members. Reserve a seat now. Springer is a television host best known for the "The Jerry Springer Show," which debuted in 1991. He is also the former mayor of Cincinnati, Emmy award winning news anchor and commentator and a progressive radio talk show host.
Springer was a political reporter and commentator on Cincinnati's NBC affiliate, WLWT. Later he became primary news anchor and managing editor. Springer would remain a commentator at WLWT until 1993. Springer was awarded Ten Emmys during his tenure at WLWT. In addition, he was a Progressive Radio talk show host on Air America for two years.
