Excitement Builds - RotaCare's 22nd Caregivers' Ball on April 14

Program celebrates 22 years facilitating medical care for those in need.

On March 11th, RotaCare celebrated the run up to this year’s Caregivers’ Ball with a lovely cocktail reception. The evening was underwritten and hosted by Astoria Bank. Over 50 guests were in attendance to cheer the good work of RotaCare and this year’s honorees. The 22nd Caregivers’ Ball will take place on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at The Cherry Valley Club in Garden City, NY. At the reception, Dr. Roman Urbanczyk, the RotaCare Medical Director summed up RotaCare’s mission: “We offer help to those in need who might not otherwise receive medical care.” RotaCare is operated entirely by a rotating staff of 100 volunteer physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, pharmacists, translators and administrative staff caring for approximately 800 patients with over 2,000 visits per year.

RotaCare patients are among the millions of people in the U.S. who cannot afford health insurance and do not qualify for Medicaid or other government programs. They are left with little or no access to care. Many would develop serious health problems, which would go untreated or burden local hospital emergency facilities.
