Chabad Mineola Honors the LI Parents of Scott Beigel, Victim of Mass Shooting in Parkland Florida at Good Deed Awards for LI Teenagers
The Beigel Schulman Family received the prestigious Menorah Memorial Tribute in loving memory of all the 17 victims of the mass shooting.
“While the world is so sadly focused on the evil perpetrated at schools”, explains Rabbi Perl, director of Chabad Mineola, “The Beigel Schulman family joined us, as we paused for an evening of celebration on the good deeds so exemplified by Long Island teenagers regardless of race color or religious affiliations.” 44 Students were honored.

“The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Schneerson of sainted memory,” added Rabbi Perl, “always encouraged acts of goodness and kindness among humanity to be the avenue to bring the world to complete peace and harmony.”
At a time when the headlines focus on the sadness and cruelty of the world, Chabad Mineola set out to identify the vast good so inherent in our youth. So with one voice, business, government and community leaders came together each year, to honor and thank outstanding teenagers for their good deeds, kindness and generous demeanor as positive role models.
