  1. The Garden City Hotel will hold the New York State Republican Committee's upcoming 2022 nominating convention on Feb. 28 and March 1. Committee members will select the official Republican candidate for statewide races, including governor, U.S. Senator and attorney general. Potential governor candidates include Long Island Congressman Lee Zeldin, former Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino and Rudi Giuliani's son, Andrew Giuliani. (Glen Cove Patch)
  2. A $1 million-winning Powerball ticket was sold at the Sunoco gas station at 655 Peninsula Blvd. in Hempstead for the Jan. 12 drawing. Check your tickets! The lucky numbers were 12, 21, 22, 30, 33 and a Powerball Number of 24. The New York Lottery says the ticket is guaranteed to be worth a million. (Mineola Patch)
  3. Is old man winter sending another storm our way in Nassau County this Sunday night? The National Weather Service says most likely. Early predictions show the storm has the potential to produce heavy snow changing to rain late Sunday night into Monday morning. However, a shift in the storm's direction could cause a nor'easter with Long Island being blanketed in snow, according to AccuWeather. (Merrick Patch)
