"Guys and Dolls" at Landmark Theater, Port Washington, July 23 - 26

Don't miss this year's Port Washington Play Troupe summer show, "Guys and Dolls." Visit portwashingtonplaytroupe.com for details.

This Frank Loesser classic musical, set in 1939, sensationalizes an era of gamblers and gangsters paired with good girls and not so good girls. The show features such well-known songs as “Luck Be a Lady” and “Sit Down, You’re Rocking the Boat.”

Brian E. Long is directing the show, with musical direction by David Barnett. Pam Meadows is the Executive Producer with her team, Tim Lavelle as Technical Producer, Robert Gold as Company Producer and Stacey Jawitz as Business Producer.

Founded in 1927, the Port Washington Play Troupe is New York State’s oldest chartered amateur theater company. Not nearly as active in the mid-1990s as today, the Company was revitalized in 2012 in celebration of its 85th anniversary and has been going strong ever since.

A very active company with extraordinary and diverse talent, the Play Troupe has produced both modern and classical dramas and comedies, in addition to musicals, radio dramas, readings of original works and multi-generational children’s theater. In fact, Play Troupe members Pam and Ron Meadows founded the beloved Port Summer Show over 40 years ago.

This year’s show is dedicated to the memory of Ron Meadows. For decades, he was the driving force who kept Play Troupe who kept it growing stronger each year. His guidance, strength and caring support are the inspiration for the current revival of so many traditional Play Troupe activities.
