Hampton Street Students Take on Reading Challenge
The Reading Challenge helped instill confidence in the young readers.

Approximatley 76 Pre-K through second-graders at Hampton Street School in Mineola accepted the recent Reading Challenge from Principal Diane Anderson.
During holiday recess, students were asked to read at least one book per day and record it in a special calendar to hand-in to their classroom teacher.
The challenge brought families together to read, as well as helped instill confidence in the young readers. Superintendent of Schools Michael P. Nagler, Ed.D. visited with those who completed the challenge and acknowledged the students’ efforts with a special certificate and pencil.
