Homeless Man Stole Multiple Cars Over Years: Nassau Police

Police say the man stole multiple cars from the same area going back to 2016.

Nassau County police arrested a homeless man on Wednesday and charged him with stealing multiple cars since 2016.

According to police, auto crimes detectives were conducting an extensive investigation into a series of thefts of cars in Mineola, Garden City Park and New Hyde Park. Police say that the detectives determined that Collin Bunbury, 32, stole a 2013 Audi parked in the lot of Fury new York Auto Sales, located at 15 Windsor Court in Mineola.

On Wednesday, police located Bunbury at the Creedmoor Psychiatric Center, located at 80-45 Winchester Blvd. in Queens, and placed him under arrest. According to police, further investigation showed that, in addition to the Audi, Bunbury stole many other cars. He is accused of stealing:

  • Sept. 12, 2016 – 2008 Honda stolen from Jericho Turnpike, Garden City Park

Bunbury is charged with nine counts of third-degree grand larceny (motor vehicle) and third-degree criminal possession of stolen property. He was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Thursday.
