Hundreds Of Firefighters Battle Raging Nassau Inferno
BREAKING: The blaze completely destroyed the building and shut down service on three branches of the LIRR for hours.
Hundreds of firefighters worked together overnight Friday to battle a large fire in Mineola that caused the Long Island Rail Road to be shut down.
Firefighters got the call for K's Auto Repair, located at 75 Willis Ave., at 11:30 p.m. When they arrived, they found the warehouse building fully engulfed in flames.
The building was located next to the train tracks in Mineola, which acts as a hub for the LIRR, joining many lines together. Service was suspended on the Port Jefferson, Ronkonkoma and Oyster Bay lines until early Friday morning, but was restored before rush hour.

It took more than 200 firefighters nearly four hours to get the fire under control. At one point, flames started to spread to the nearby Western Beef supermarket, but firefighters were able to keep the blaze contained, Newsday reported.
The building was completely destroyed by the fire. No one was injured, but News 4 reported that a guard dog may have been killed or gotten loose.
