Limited LIRR Service Restored on 3 Branches After Person Struck by Train
BREAKING: Commuters are advised to use alternate branches.

UPDATED at 9 a.m.: Limited service has been restored on the Ronkonkoma & Port Jeff branches with delays averaging 60-90 minutes following an earlier service suspension, the LIRR says.

Long Island Rail Road service is suspended on three branches Thursday morning after a person was struck by a train.

The LIRR said: The Ronkonkoma, Port Jefferson, and Oyster Bay branches are suspended in both directions as a result of an unauthorized person on the tracks that was struck by a train west of Mineola station. Commuters are advised to use alternate branches at this time.
The train involved in the accident was the 6:08 a.m. train from Ronkonkoma due at Penn Station at 7:27 a.m.
