Long Island Contractors' Association Bi-County Infrastructure Breakfast
LICA recognizes Long Island Leaders and Elected Officials for their support and commitment to local Infrastructure.
Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano receives a bat from Marc Herbst, Executive Director of the Long Island Contractors' Association for his support and “Going to Bat” for Long Island’s infrastructure at LICA’s Bi-County Infrastructure Breakfast held at Carlyle on the Green
As a thank you for their battle to fight for local infrastructure needs, LICA presented each leader and elected official in attendance with a full size bat engraved with the message “Going to Bat for Long Island Infrastructure” from the Long Island Contractors’ Association.
Their efforts helped ensure that important legislation such as the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act) was signed into law in December 2015. This was the first law enacted in over ten years that provides long-term funding for surface transportation allowing states and local governments to plan and move forward with critical long-term transportation projects. LICA also praised Governor Cuomo along with local and state legislators for the approval of funding the state’s recent 5-year capital program – the largest transportation plan in the state’s history.
