Man Arrested After Robbing Nassau Dunkin' Donuts at Gunpoint: Police

The 52-year-old fled the scene in a gold car, which police quickly tracked down Saturday, police say.

A 52-year-old Hempstead man was arrested on Saturday for holding up a Mineola Dunkin' Donuts at gunpoint, police said.

According to police, Phillip Robinson entered the Dunkin' Donuts located at 120 Old Country Road at 4:55 p.m., displayed a handgun and demanded money. The employee behind the counter complied and Robinson fled in a gold car, police said.

Police said they were later able to locate Robinson driving southbound on South Franklin Avenue in Hempstead and place him under arrest.

Robinson was charged with first degree robbery, first degree criminal use of a firearm and second degree criminal possession of a weapon. He was arraigned on Sunday at First District Court in Hempstead. He was remanded to jail without bail and is due back in court on Wednesday.
