Vegas Ferris Wheel Romp Lands Couple in Jail: Police

What happens in Vegas does not stay in Vegas if you get charged with a felony.

A Long Island woman and a Texas man face felony charges after they were caught having sex on a ferris wheel on the Las Vegas Strip last week, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Officers arrived to the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel, to investigate a report of indecent exposure at 3 p.m. Friday.

Reports say the couple was in one of the High Roller cabins and were seen smoking and undressing, the Las Vegas Review Journal reports.

According to the arrest report posted by KTNV, the woman was laying on her back in the center of the cabin and the man was on his knees over her and removed her dress. The man also reportedly took off his clothes while standing up, which completely exposed him to the public.

Several people in the neighboring cabin were recording the act on their cell phones, the report says.

The act was also caught on surveillance video, but the video will not be released by the LVMPD at this time, they said.

Chloe Scordianos, 21, of Hicksville, and Philip Panzica, 27, of Houston, were arrested and charged with commission of certain sex acts in public.

Scordianos and Panzica told police they were ”just having a good time and didn’t think anyone would notice,” the Journal reports.

The High Roller, taller than both the London Eye and Singapore Flyer, is 520 feet in diameter and takes 30 minutes to complete one full rotation, according to Caesars. There are 28 glass-enclosed cabins, which can hold about 40 people, with views of the Strip. It’s considered “The Happiest Half Hour in Vegas.”

Vital Vegas offers advice to tourists on how to have sex on the High Roller and not get caught. Unfortunately, their advice was not taken into consideration in this reported not-so-happy half hour in Vegas. Some of Vital’s advice included: bring a blanket, avoid peak hours and go at night. Before reading the tips, Patch wants to remind everyone that sex in public in Las Vegas is a felony. The 11 Vital Tips for Having Sex on the High Roller can be found here.

Another tip is to not have sex with someone who is not your girlfriend. KTNV says Panzica’s girlfriend bailed him out of jail for $3,000 later that day.

Scordianos’ attorney says she denies the allegations that this was a public sex act and says she expected to have more privacy in the individual cars, according to the Journal.
